"TALK BACK TREMBLIN' LIPS"

In July 1996 my Father, David Brown passed away. My Father lived on the West coast of Canada and I seldom got to see him. He and my Mother divorced when I was quite young. Only one time in my music career did he ever see me perform and that was when I was 17 years old. I was playing with a band called "Freeway" at the time. My Dad was really happy to finally see me on stage singing. The next day he and I attended a family reunion and he taught me a song called "Talk back Tremblin' Lips". He told me when I was a baby he used to sing this song to me and it helped put me to sleep.

In January '99 I released my first CD entitled "My First Love". I've had some wonderful moments and times and met so many great people since it's release. One night, it was about 3 am and I couldn't sleep and was thinking about my Dad and how he would have been so excited and happy about my CD and music. I was feeling very lonely and sadly missing him.Unable to sleep, I decided to visit the Dutch Country DJ Site and visit some artist websites that are linked to them. The very first site I came upon was "Ernie Ashworth's"

I did not know who Ernie Ashworth was at the time but as soon as I went into his site I realized he was the instrument God and my Dad used that night to help put me to sleep. For it was Ernie Ashworth that recorded and made "Talk back Tremblin' Lip's" a hit back in the 60's. Needless to say, I shed some tears and quietly hummed that song to sleep.

I wrote Ernie Ashworth and told him the story about that night and he and I have since become friends. Whenever I think about my Dad now and am missing him, I think about Ernie and his song and the greatest feeling of peace comes to me because I know my Dad is listening.
