"A DREAM COME TRUE"

I'm from the Sudbury area of Ontario Canada. Up here there are country people , but they seem to not want to get out of their basements and share their tallents. Country music up here is dying because of that, and that is why I did what I felt I had to do. I was 52 years of age when I recorded my first CD with the Whispering Bill Anderson band and Producer Robbie Wittkowski. I was always country right to the core and one day while talking to my nephew who is a rocker , I stated that because of the way country is falling around here, that I should try to help bring it back to where it once was. He looked at me,laughed and said "you" Ha , you cant do that."Well" I was never one to sit back and not take a challenge, so I started writing songs. I had about 160 songs when through the net I came up with Robbie Wittkowski [ Kid Kody Records & Promotions] I contacted him and asked about recording and if it was possible to have some of the Grand Ole Opry boys play the music.Robbie Wittkowski called me by phone the next day and said the Bill Anderson Band was available along with Tommy White and Carol Lee Cooper of the Grand Ole Opry . Robbie then asked when I would like to go ahead with the project. I'll tell all of you people, it caught me by suprise, for I had never expected to get that kind of response and so quick. What I did from there was to send down the songs the way I had did them. Robbie then [ thanks to Bill Anderson for the use of his band] had Bills band put the music to the songs and sent the music back to me to get used to. We set up a date and three days before we were to record I developed an inner ear infection and lost hearing in my left ear, which Robbie did not know about, but because of the commitment and my nephew's laugh, there was no way that I would miss the day that I was to record. I went ahead with the project all nervous and half deaf and accomplished a thing that I had dreampt about for many years. I met so many good people down there in Nashville, and have being back stage at the Opry three times, and will never get enough of it. The good old boys almost started calling my wife and I by name. The point of this story or punch line is directed to all you fans and any person out there that thinks that something must be done to bring country back to where it once was. Your NEVER to old to reach out to the one thing that you always wanted to do, and never sit back, when someone tells you that you can't do it. In this world of ours there are to many things that we have no control over so if by some chance you think for just one minute that you might be able to make a difference, then do it and don't look back because things will work out. Any person out there with a computer and access to the web can review my finished product, and now that I have done one I can't wait to do another. The first time is always the hardest when you don't know what to expect. Now that I have done it once and have gotten over the [ what am I in for feeling] ,the next time what will be the important thing on my mind is just how good I can do it. From here on in time has no meaning, we all have all the time in the world so don't sit back and waste it, share it with the fans.
