The story behind my song those duke boys from hazzard county It was christmas 1995 And my mother had to go to the hospital She was into kidney failure And they said that they did not know If she would pull through or not While she was in the hospital I had to go to a nursing home So to say the lest christmas that year Was not a very happy one' Well the lord must have been with us Because my mother pulled through And a little over a week later we got to go back home Well that was a very emotional time And I really needed something to life my sprits So a few nights later while switching through channels I came to tnn and there it was my all time favorite tv show The dukes of hazzard There was good old boss hogg rosco . p coltrain Miss daisy duke enos strait and crazy cooter And those two duke boys bo and luke And the minute that I saw john Schneider's beautiful smile That's when I knew that everything was gonna be alright Well after a few weeks of watching the dukes I thought what if they ever do a dukes of hazzard reunion movie So that's when I got an idea for a song called Those duke boys from hazzard county And although I could not get my song to the powers that be My song won country song of the year from the maine country music association So hopefully one of these days I'll turn on my tv And I'll hear my song on another reunion movie
