The Bus Ride
The time was early 1960's. The place..Hartford Conn. This was a time when many artists played "PACKAGE SHOWS " . A friend and I attended ALL the shows which were held mainly during the winter. One particular night BILL ANDERSON and his band, named "THE PO BOYS " at the time had performed, and as usual, put on a FANTASTIC show...After the last artist had performed, the usual custom was for fans who cared to could go backstage and meet and greet the artists, { and their band members, I might add } that was the time for picture taking, and autograph signings. They were MIGHTY OBLIGING back then. Well, one night as my friend and I were mingling backstage, one of the band members or artists came in from outside where they had been to the bus, and said it was snowing real good out there...My friend and I said "Great" we are parked way up near the Hotel , which just happened to be where the artists were all staying. At he time we were chit chatting with Bill, and he very nicely said..."We will be going that way when we leave here, and you are welcome to ride on the bus if you would like" RIDE ON BILL ANDERSON'S BUS ????? That was the ABSOLUTE icing on the cake..THE END OF A PERFECT NIGHT !!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU "WHISPERING BILL"
