Fan Fair 2000

This being my first trip to Nashville and Fan Fair... I wasn't sure what to expect.. it was the most exciting trip!!.. The first thing we attended was the Sunday Evening Country at the Troubador Theatre on Sunday night... WOW!!... you talk about a fantastic and wonderful experience... to see and hear the artists give their testimonies...such stars as Jim Ed Brown..Johnny Russell...Skeeter Davis...just to name a few... simply wonderful!!!... It was so wonderful that we stayed for the second show....Another wonderful thing that happened here was I got to meet a wonderful friend that I had only know up until this time by email only.... The next day we got to Fan Fair as the gates opened.... so many great country performers.... I was in a daze...lol... the different booths..with so many wonderful souveniers... the stars were down home people... they talked to you as if they have known you for ever....smile... I had so much fun talking to them and getting photos taken with them...I took my polaroid along...so the photos were processed instantly and the stars autographed them right then and there!!... really Cool!!!.... and the shows put on in the Grandstand were out of this world!!!.... boy was I tired that evening....lol.... but not to tired to go to the World Famous Tootsies downtown to see my good friend Kim Anthony and his group play.... WOW!!!... do they put on a FANTASTIC show!!!... this special show was put on by Col. Buster Doss of Stardust Records... Kim really knows how to hold a crowds attention.... he's great!!... If you're ever in Nashville.... Kim plays at Tootsies on a regular basis.... don't miss him!!!.... The next day we just laid low.... since we were going to a great party that night... the Bill Anderson Fan Club Party!!.... Now this was a GREAT night!!!.... Bill Anderson was so easy to talk to and everybody got to take photos with him and visit with him.... wonderful!!... a really great surprise was to find out that Jim Ed Brown was there also!!... wow!!.. The whole party even got to sing with both Bill Anderson and Jim Ed Brown....Totally Cool!!!! Even Jan Howard showed up!!!... I tell you this was a night to remember!!!... there was a new artist there Craig Morgan....wow what a voice!!!... and to top it all off.... I got to meet Mr. Dick Shuey himself...and actually ate dinner with him!!!.... this was the best night of the whole week!!!....The next day was spent at Fan Fair.... after walking around and talking to more great country music performers then we spent the rest of the day watching the GREAT shows in the Grandstand...such wonderful artists as Allen Jackson....Toby Keith...Brad Paisley...Pam Tillis...Brooks and Dunn....along with others!!!... one terrific show after another!!!.... Thursday was spent visiting all the wonderful museums in town..and we also visited the Opryland Hotel....WOW!!... it's beautiful!!.....And the Opry Mills Mall....WOW!! You talk about a gigantic mall!!...lol...whew... you can get lost in there for hours...My feet still hurt just thinking about all the walking...LOL... Now on to Friday...we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame....totally awesome!!.... To walk through this wonderful place and see all of the GREAT Legends... wonderful!!!....Next to the Ryman...wow!!... this was fantastic!!!... then on to see Kim Anthony at Tootsies again...another great show by Kim!!!!...We then went back to the Ryman to see the show "Always Patsy Cline".... You talk about an awesome show!!!... Mandy Barnett has a totally awesome voice.... sounded so much like Patsy... you could close your eyes and you'd think you were actually listening to Patsy!!... wonderful!!!.... Well I guess that about sums up the trip.... I'm sorry to say we had to come on back home the next day....but believe me we'll be back next year!!!!.... This was a vacation to remember!!!!.... Thank you to all the wonderful Stars and friends and the city of Nashville.....for making this the most memorable vacation!!!!
