Fantastic Day With Billy Ray Cyrus
Oct 13 96 What a day! Got up & went early to the Chili Fest..10:30 am..Saw Lee Ann Rimes warming up singing...Huge crowd! I am very claustrophobic & this was hard to handle....We were in front & being crushed....I kept trying to show Security Guards my letter saying I was to meet Billy but could get no guard that believed it.....Finally Billy pulled up in a courtesy Chevrolet from the airport....then he went around to the crowd signing autographs & did a piece on the radio station....He was behind a fence....I kept trying to get in to no avail...getting more & more sick..I hadn't ate all day or been to potty all day or drank all day....not a good situation.....Finally my friend screamed at a guard & said "SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE BACK THERE!" I had told her 15 more minutes & I was leaving.....HE LISTENED AT LAST! I was in the Meet & Greet line & when I got to Billy I told him I was the one he called....He took his sunglasses off & said "Let me look at you"....& then with all the others waiting to meet him took me inside his tent..pulled out a chair & said sit here till I get back.....Well he came back in & introduced me to 2 of his friends who had given him his first $10,000....they believed in him way back in Flatwoods Ky.....He then told me how he was down to his last $37 when Mercury signed him....He took 3 pictures with me....one of us talking...one with hs arm around me & I couldn't resist one of me with my head on his shoulder....He was so sweet caring & nice! He then had other duties & told me to stay in the tent where it was cool.... Well then a Security Guard came up to me & kept apologizing about how they had treated me...(They thought Billy & I were friends) LOL Billy Ray treated me so special that day.....B105 got up & told the story of Billy Ray callng me....They said he was a class act! The Chii Fest was way too crowded...I don't think I would ever go again unless I was personally invited by Billy Ray.... Another day in the adventures of NANCY! They're getting better!
