Here's A Quarter

This is my 15 seconds of fame in Nashville.... To make a long story short. The night Travis Tritt was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry....I happened to be there with my mother. She had to use a walker...and we had seats almost at the stage. Travis had not been performing "Here's A Quarter" because he was hit in the face with a quarter by a fan awhile performing on stage previously. The Nashville Banner stated he would not sing the song that night. Just as he was introduced ......Iwas to the left of the stage taking pictures...and the camera crew from Channel 2 {I think} was taping his performance for the 11 o'clock news.

He came out and started signing....Guess What...??? About that time somebody behind me yelled..."Here's your - - - - - Quarter"....just as I and the Camera Man turned around...I raised my hand for some unexplained reason and caught the quarter. I was filmed and was on the opening of the news that night..."Fan Saves Travis Tritt"...They caught me catching the quarter.....Showing the ham in me starting to throw it towards mr. Tritt....but instead placed it in my pocket.

The funnest thing was when the news came on my mother looked at the TV and said..."Donald, That man looks like you". God rest her soul...she is gone now...but that was the funnest thing she ever said in my life... We laughed about the event many times...until her death. That was fun...!!!
