| Back in 1959 Hank Thompson played in Farmington New Mexico... My husband and I had been married for a little over a year...We had moved from West Texas to Farmington where his Dad and brothers were working in the oil fileds..
We went out that night to a dance to listen to Hank Thompson... For some reason he didn't have a mike stand so he asked if anyone in the audience would like to come up and hold his mike.... My brother-in-law, being quite the joker held up my hand and said "she will" I was so embarressed but I went up on the stage and held his mike for him while he did his show...I had the time of my life...Hank Thompson was so nice....and a gentleman...I think I got stage fever that night for a few years later I did begin performing with bands... I wonder if he would remeber that little blonde girl who became his mike |
