Ernest & Justin Here's my Dad's story... First of all my Dad's name is James Charles Pruett... The story's not a long one.. he was only 7 or 8 years old.. it was around 1936. My Dad went to live with his Aunt Pearl Nicholson after his Mom died, being during the depression times were really hard. His Aunt Pearl rented a house on Palo Blanco Street in San Antonio, Texas and having such a hard time making the payments on the house rented part of the house to Ernest Tubb his wife Elaine and their son Justin. E.T. would often ask Aunt Pearl to play the guitar and sing gospel songs with him. One time in particular my Dad remembers is sitting out on the front porch and E.T. was holding Justin on his lap and told him to yodel for them. Justin then started to try to yodel, he was only around 2 years old at this time. Also my Dad's Uncle Lonnie Williams had a band called Lonnie and his Tom Cats they played in the local bars in San Antonio for the kitty (a big old black box with a black cat cut out of wood connected to the front of it)for the people to drop money into for different songs they would request, and E.T. would sometimes sit in with them.
