"NO SHOW JONES"

The year was 1986 and I was playing in a bluegrass band in Ohio, we was playing for a packed house in a night club outside of Springfield. It just so happened that George Jones was playing just a few miles down the road the very same night. I have a friend who looks and sings exactly like George and he happened to stroll in the side door of the club just as we was starting our 3rd set, I couldn't resist the teptation that was there before me so I announced over the microphone " Ladies and Gentlemen please make welcome our good friend Goerge Jones ". The place went crazy as Jim got up there and sang He Stopped Loving Her Today, they actually thought it was George himself. There was a truck driver sitting in the back of the room that instantly started crying and when Jim got off stage the truck driver called his wife on the phone and made Jim talk to her. I don't know if the truck driver ever figured it out but he was the happiest man in Ohio that night.
